[/blockquote][/blockquote]hannah thought as she continued her walk home. her parents had dropped her off but she had accidentally left her cell phone at home so she couldn't call them. they wouldn't worry though, she would always stay at the hospital for hours on end so they probably still thought she was there. hannah pulled her sweater closer to her as the wind began to pick up. there sky showed signs of rain but the young girl didn't mind. she loved rain more than anything in the world, well not really she just had an odd fascination with it.
“just take it easy from now on” the doctor said. although a smile was painted on his face, his eyes held a different emotion that frightened young hannah, but she didn't dare say anything more. she was in the hospital for her monthly check-up and the results weren't as good as she wished they would be. at this rate, hannah would never get better. not that she believed she would, i mean there was a small chance that she could survive but what were the odds? hannah had been battling cancer for years now and she had already raised her hopes up one too many times. anyways, the doctor did a few more simple exams on her to test her reflexes and such before finally releasing her. hannah immediately headed to the front desk to tell mrs. friedman what the doctor had said. mrs. friedman had operated the front desk for about twenty years and she had become hannah's confident. she looked like a grandma, and a nice one at that but alas she had never been able to get pregnant and lost her husband to alcohol a year ago. yet she always had a smile on her face which was what hannah admired. she had told mrs. friedman various time that she wished she could be just like her, if she lived that is. anyways, mrs. friedman offered some words of wisdom before being whisked away by a couple who had entered the hospital because the woman was in labor. seeing as the hospital was really busy, hannah decided just to go home for the day. usually, she enjoyed staying for a while long. after all, this had been her home for the entire summer. although she loved having friends there, hannah enjoyed living like a normal girl even if she wasn't as normal as everyone else.
she let out a single cough as she exited the hospitals, thoughts of past memories still fresh on her mind. the was a cool breeze outside which blew her hair in every direction possible. she put her hand in her pocket and pulled out a rubber-band, she could not handle walking home with her hair blocking her eye sight. hannah thought about cutting it before but she could not handle losing her chocolate brown locks, at least not yet. she needed to preserve her hair while she could. as soon as the disease hit her hard like it had before, she would cut it all off. hopefully she would cut it before it becomes useless. either way, if she lost her hair no one would notice. her parents had already taken all the necessary steps to make sure she had everything so she could still have a normal life without anyone knowing of her sickness. sometimes, hannah just loved her parents to death but it hurt her to know that believe her fat was grim. hannah was distracted that she had begun to forget to tie her hair back until a gust of wind suddenly threw her hair into an uproar. so she grabbed her hair in one hand and with the other, she pulled it up into a messy bun. that's better
as hannah walked, she noticed that she was getting pretty close to the park. since the weather wasn't at it's best point, the park was almost deserted except for a young mother with her child. a smile crossed until the girl's face at the sight of this. it reminded her of times spent here with her own mother. sure, there were usually boys around her as well but that was just because hannah's brothers didn't trust her being on her own in a park. so they thought it upon themselves to help their mother take care of her. seeing as her parents weren't really waiting for her or anything, hannah decided that she could spend a little more time in the park. she headed towards the slide, she didn't really enjoy the swings as much as other people seemed too. sure, swinging was fun but after a while you got tired of moving your legs forward and backwards over and over. hannah climbed to the top and sat there. for a moment she took a trip back in time, to when she was a little girl pretending she was a princess and the entire playground was her kingdom. hannah closed her eyes and got lost into her fantasy world. unfortunately, a sound made her escape back into reality.
