- - - - - My name is Colby Ezekiel La'beout. Wanna know how to pronounce my last name? Well, guess what, so do I. I think it's something like la-bout or la-boot or something of the sort. French? I dunno. But whatever, it doesn't really matter unless I get famous one day and then I'll just use some other name like some authors do. Ezekiel was after my grandfather and Colby was probably after some dog. Like really... Colby? That's a fucking dog's name. Whatever...

- - - - - I was born on the eleventh of March and am seventeen years old. Nothing too exciting happened during my birth. I was an average sized baby, maybe a little on the small side. I don't know and nobody actually cares anyones. They just ask to be kind or considerate or sound like they give a fuck or something of the sort.

- - - - - I look familiar? That's kind of weird. I didn't think many people noticed me. But yah, I guess maybe you have seen me around the school. I've been going here since my freshman year and I am a senior now, so it'd make sense and all. I'm not really sure why you'd notice me though. I'm kind of on the quiet side and not what you'd consider "cool". Maybe you saw me with my girlfriend though? I guess that since I'm with her my social status isn't too extremely low. The fact that I'm loaded helps out a bit too, I'm guessing. Whatever...

` MAYBE IT WAS JUST AROUND. WHERE ARE YOU FROM ?

- - - - - Well, I'm actually from New York and lived their until the summer before ninth grade. My parents split up though, so I moved here with my mom. I didn't care much about the move either way. Getting away from the kids who had made my grade school a living hell was nice, but being dropped into a new school to get a whole new set of enemies wasn't too cool.

- - - - - I guess I'm into girls. I mean, I've never really thought about going after guys so I don't think I'm gay. But then again, I've never full out decided I wouldn't go after them so maybe I am partially gay? Who knows. I don't really have the guts to try anything new so I guess that makes me straight.

` ALRIGHT, ON TO THE GOOD STUFF. WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME ? ANY FAVORITE PASTIMES ?

- - - - - Well, I love to write poems and songs. I'm not really open to sharing them with other people though so no one really knows. A few of my English teachers have read my work and encouraged me to share a piece in the school newsletter or something but I'd rather not. What I write is private and I don't think it'd make sense to anyone else but me. I like to spend time with my girlfriend... Just the whole holdings hands and going on walks and watching movies together or taking naps... She kind of makes me nervous and feel uptight but when I do manage to relax around her I have a good time. I like to be quiet. I know it doesn't seem too exciting but I've always been more of an introverted type of person and like to just sit and relax; it's calming and peaceful.

` TELL ME: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD ? THINGS THAT JUST MAKE YOU WANT TO SMILE.

- - - - - Poetry, especially writings by Edgar Allen Poe. I guess you could say he's kind of my role model. He wasn't afraid to write down his feelings and let people know that he felt depressed, lost and like life was hopeless. He was brave enough to do what I'll probably never manage. Along with poetry I also just love quotes and literature. I'm not one to talk very much but I'm known for randomly quoting different writers and/or movies. I also love music. It has a way of just getting into my system and running through me like some sort of drug injected into my veins. I love my girlfriend. She's beautiful and... I don't know, I just love her. I'd give her the world if I could. I like silence and solitude, but I also like chilling with a few friends from time to time since you can't live a life by yourself. I just wish my friends were more like me and weren't dragging me down all the time... Like Emerson said, "Solitude is impractical and yet society is fatal." I like imagination and creativity. I wish I could live in my own little made up world where everything was just... at peace.

` AND SADLY, WE ALL KNOW THERE ARE THINGS WE JUST CAN'T STAND. WHAT ARE YOUR'S ?

- - - - - I don't like being the center of attention. I'd much rather give someone attention then receive it. Then again, I don't like being completely ignored. I dislike arguments and wish people could just get along. Have you ever realized that most arguments and discussions are completely pointless and useless? I think Poe said it best when he said, "In one case out of a hundred a point is excessively discussed because it is obscure; in the ninety-nine remaining it is obscure because it is excessively discussed." I don't like crowded places or loud noises (unless it's good music) so I tend to avoid big parties or stay at the side of them if I'm dragged along. I hate being lied to. I don't like people using me for my money or other things, but I usually let them anyways. I hate when people think I'm stupid or don't have an opinion just because I don't talk very much.

` ANY SHORT OR LONG TERM GOALS ? WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS ? IN TEN ? HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GET THERE ?

- - - - - I'd love to be a writer like Edgar Allen Poe, but I'm afraid to let anyone read what I write so I'm not sure how that's going to happen. Other then that I don't really have any plans... I'm trying to just take life one day at a time and get through this year with decent grades. I'm not sure what I think about getting married anymore... I don't want to get married only to split up like my parents.

` WHAT MAKES YOU QUAKE IN YOUR BOOTS ? IF YOU HAD TO PICK ONE THING THAT HAS SCARED YOU THE MOST, WHAT WOULD IT BE ?

- - - - - I'm afraid my life has no point to it. I wake up every morning and ask myself, "Why did I just wake up?" I've yet to come up with an answer. This fear leads to my next fear... What if my depression gets the best of me? I don't want to just be the next coward that pulls the trigger. Then again, does pulling the trigger mean you're too scared to live or does it mean you're brave enough to let go?
I don't talk about this to anyone so no one really knows these fears. People only know the obvious ones like my anxiety issues and such.

` IS THERE A SIGNIFICANT OTHER IN YOUR LIFE ? HOW DO YOU DO WITH RELATIONSHIPS ?

- - - - - I've been dating Mina Camille Winston on and off for the last four years. What am I doing? I don't even know. She's beautiful and I love her... don't ask me why. I just do... I think. I just know I'd give everything to her and do anything for her. I know she's way out of my league and not really anything like me but we somehow just work. Or kinda do... ? Since we've broken up a few times maybe we don't... I don't know. I guess dating her has made me more popular in a sense but I'm not really sure if I like it. I feel a bit like I'm just a follower. Oh well, I guess it's better then being bullied.

- - - - - Extravagant sounds about right. My mom is a bit of an air head and is always smiling and singing and tanning and whatever else... I think she's just trying to hide how hurt she is about the split up from my dad. She's an interior designer and is pretty well off when it comes to money. I think she's like... forty-two now? Or something like that. My dad's forty-five and is a brain surgeon. So yah, he has a shit load of money and my mom got a big chunk of it because of the divorce. His whole life revolves around his job so he didn't have time for my mom which is why they split up. And the fact that he did seem to have time for his secretary was probably part of it... He never really had time for me either, which is why I chose to stay with my mom when they split. I visit him from time to time and he sends me some money every month to save up for University so that I can become a brain surgeon like him or something... But I know I can't do that. Not only do I have no interest in it but my hands are also too shaky to operate on anyone's brain.

` DANG. ANY OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN YOUR FAMILY ? DID YOUR PARENTS HAVE ANY OTHER CHILDREN ?

- - - - - No, no siblings for me. My parents were never very good with children. I think they kind of just had me as some sort of accessory of some sort.

` HOW ABOUT PETS, HAVE ANY OF THOSE ?

- - - - - Uhmm... we have some random big aquariums with fish in them in our house... or mansion or whatever it is... ? I think they're more decorations then anything else, though.

- - - - - I guess my best kept secret is just what my fears are. Being depressed isn't really a secret since I think most people can kind of guess, but I try to make an effort of pretending it's no big deal.
There's also this other secret that's just kind of fucked up. You see, I enjoy violent, sadomasochistic sex. I can just finally get everything out of my system and go through physical pain and inflict physical pain without having to kill myself or anyone else... Twisted, I know, but it's true. Mina doesn't even know. No one really expects it from me either since I'm more of the introverted and quiet type.
