Madison Isabella McKellen relaxed against the back of the chair that was not that comfortable., a sigh of relief coming from her lips. Her blonde hair brushed against her cheek, it’s soft waves falling down to her shoulders. Today had been a hard day. It was only her 3rd day at Carson High School and already she wanted to go back to her old school. She wasn't used to not hearing from her daughter all day. Sure she was used to not spending every waking minute with her daughter, Lilly-Anne, but she was usually with her mother. Unfortunately since she was now half way across the country from her mother, so she had to trust a babysitter with her beloved daughter, something she was still not comfortable with doing.

Madi sighed again and leaned back, trying to get more comfortable on the chair she was currently sitting in. As sad and pathetic as it was to admit, she was lonely. All she really had here was her daughter, and while her daughter meant everything to her, she really didn't have any friends at Evra High. No one really noticed her which was fine, but she knew when she started bringing Lilly-Anne to classes with her two days a week, that people would talk. She knew what they would say too. They would call her a slut, a whore, and all types of other hurtful names. Sure she knew it wasn't true, but unfortunately it still stung. She hadn't had to deal with it much back at her old school because everyone there knew her story. Here, no one knew, so they would automatically assume the worst about her and her beloved child.

Madi groaned loudly when she thought about how she was going to protect her daughter from all the rumors going around. Lilly-Anne was smarter than your average 5 year old, and could understand some things most adults couldn't so she knew she would have to make sure she didn't hear anything, or else her bubbly child would start asking questions she wasn't prepared to answer.

Quinn had been sitting in the lounge alone when she watched a girl, about her age walk in and plop herself down on one of the chairs in the room. The girl did not look familiar, so Quinn asumed she was new here. Quinn may have been a new girl herself, but only at the school. She had been to many social events with the people who walked these halls, and this was just one face she did not recognize.

It was slightly obvious that this girl felt awkward and alone in this new place. Quinn knew too much about what it felt like to be alone, and she hoped this girl was being welcomed nicely to Carson, not that most people worried about welcoming new students. Most people were still trying to cope with what had happened, at least Quinn was. When Quinn had learned transferring to Carson was her best option, it was hard to realize she was going to the place of her nightmares. The place she lost the one man she ever loved. All Carson High School ever was, and ever will be to Quinn Peters was a place of sorrow.

Quinn decided it would be nice to go oer and talk to this girl. She seemed fearfully alone, and everyone could use someone to talk to, even strangers. Quinn picked up her books and moved herself over to the chair next to the blonde haired girl. She sat herself down and put her books on the table before allowing herself to speak. "Uh, hey. I'm Quinn." The words sounded beyond awkward coming out of her mouth. She really did not know what to say to her. "Are you new her too? I don't think I've seen you around before?" Quinn searched her brain for something else to say, but her mind blanked. She was never really much of a talker, but there was really nothing else to do about the situation now. She had greeted the girl, and hopefully she wouldn't think of her to be completely pathetic.

Quinn's fingers immediately moved to her neck. It was there that hung her favorite necklace, the mother and child symbol. Remington had given it to her a little bit before Patrick was born. Quinn had never taken it off. It was the closest thing to Patrick she had when she couldn't be with him. It was hard sitting in school knowing that he was off at home with his grandmother. Quinn knew her mom was taking good care of him, she just did not like the fact that she had to spend hours away from him while she was at school. Patrick was her entire world, and it was very hard to stay away from him. Especially these days.
