- - - - - "darling, you should already know my name but if not let me refresh your memory. my name is mikaela sofia vanderbilt, and you better not forget it. if mikaela is too long for your liking, feel free to call me mika or mickey, whichever suits your fancy. to be honest, i love my name. if that makes me sound full of myself, then so be it. but seriously, i love my name, simply because it's feminine and rolls off the tongue rather nicely. i'm glad my parents didn't give me a gender-neutral name, especially since i'm quite the girly person. y'know, names like alex or taylor. but ever since my mother was a little girl, she loved the name mikaela. years before i was even born, i had the name mikaela. my mother loved the name, and i guess i've grown to love it, too. as for sofia, it comes from my father's side, and has been given to the vanderbilt women for generations. every vanderbilt descendent has the middle name sofia, so that's how i ended up with it. lasty, vanderbilt is of dutch heritage, and comes from my father's side, of course. even though he's gone, me and my mother still carry his name. and i plan to pass it on to my children to keep the vanderbilt legacy going."

- - - - - "i was born on a warm summers day, around noon to be exact, on july fifteenth. fast forward eighteen years, and i'm now an eighteen year old high school senior, and honestly, i don't feel it. the past several years have blown by in a blur, and how do i feel about that? well it means i'm getting older to the point of dying so i guess it's pretty daunting to think about. i can't remember much about my birth, simply because it was over eighteen years ago, but my parents always said i was a miracle. i was born early, about a month to be exact, so i was smaller than the average new born. i also wasn't born breathing. after what felt like hours and several maneuvers later, oxygen finally entered my lungs and i released a blood curdling cry for the very first time. a sigh of relief exploded from everyone in the room as i cried and writhed like a newborn baby should. at-least, that's how my parents described it. like i said previously, i don't remember any of it. for the following three weeks, i spent my time in intensive care until i was finally freed and allowed to come home. my parents said i was a miracle because the fact that i survived the premature birth was, in fact, a miracle. growing up, they always called me their little miracle."

- - - - - "well before i start this never-ending list, let me warn you that is going to far exceed ten things. first off, i love parties and having fun. i enjoy nothing more than just having a good time. next, i love audrey hepburn. she oozes decadence and perfection, and i just think she's amazing i love trying new things, and stirring up trouble and creating adventure. adrenaline is the best drug, after all. although they're a pain to wear, i love high heels. they make your legs look amazing and make me about four inches taller. i love the beach, and just laying out and being tan. i love older men, just because they're far more mature and responsible. i love vacations, and being able to just get away. i love cotton candy, especially because it just disappears in your mouth practically. i love comedy and laughing, and i love to make people laugh. i love boys, of course. who doesn't? i love all nighters, and staying up with my friends while drinking red bull to keep us awake. oddly enough, i also like school. don't tell anyone though, i don't want people thinking i'm a nerd. i love but also hate jogging, but it helps me look good so i gotta love it i guess. i love surprises, so feel free to throw my a surprise party or something! i love snow, but i hate being cold, so that's another love/hate sort of relationship. lastly, i'm a girl, so of course i like to shop. was that a long enough list for you?"

- - - - - "as stated previously above, this list will be more than ten things. but hopefully it'll be a tad shorter, since there's a not a lot of things i dislike. okay, so to start us off, i hate posers. they annoy me to no end. i hate prudes, and people who think they're superior. i hate beer, because it reminds me of overweight, middle-aged bald guys who do nothing but watch tv. i hate closed-mindedness. open your mind, people! i hate cabin fever. ew, gross. i hate having nothing to wear or do. when that happens. i hate jerks, and will not tolerate them at all. i hate insults, because they make me feel worthless. i hate petty rules, but i don't listen to them anyway. i hate america's economy. how the hell am i supposed to get a job? i hate bigots, and anything petty. i hate being without the people i love i most guys my own age, seriously. they're so immature and such egotistical morons. i hate being home alone, because it terrifies me. i hate sad movies, simply because i hate crying. and lastly, i hate growing up. i'm like peter pan. i never ever wanna grow up."
